Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the operation and management of an oil terminal in Iraq. This role involves ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient operations of the terminal while meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) and maintaining strict compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of terminal activities, including staff supervision, equipment maintenance, logistics, and coordination with external contractors and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the overall management of the oil terminal, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Oversee day-to-day operations including receiving, storage, and shipment of oil products.
- Develop and implement maintenance programs for terminal equipment and infrastructure.
- Coordinate with local and international stakeholders, including government authorities, contractors, and suppliers.
- Manage and lead a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff to ensure all activities are performed in compliance with industry standards.
- Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, schedules, and performance indicators.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management on terminal performance, safety incidents, and operational improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and safety protocols, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Lead incident investigation and root cause analysis for operational or safety issues.
- Ensure continuous improvement in operational efficiency and risk mitigation strategies.
- Oversee logistics and supply chain activities, ensuring timely deliveries and inventory control.
- Provide leadership in emergency response and crisis management situations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in project management, specifically in oil and gas terminal operations or a similar industrial environment.
- Proven experience managing large-scale oil terminals or refineries, with a deep understanding of terminal operations, safety regulations, and logistics.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Knowledge of international and local regulatory requirements.
- Experience working in Iraq or other challenging environments is preferred.
Rotation Schedule:
- Rotational schedule (e.g., 28/28 or similar) with the opportunity for breaks in between rotations.
