We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scrap Metal Trader to join our dynamic team in London. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in the scrap metal trading industry, with a proven track record of success in sourcing, negotiating, and closing deals. This role requires a deep understanding of market trends, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sourcing: Identify and source scrap metal from various suppliers, including industrial manufacturers, demolition companies, and recycling facilities.
  2. Negotiation: Negotiate favorable terms and pricing with suppliers and buyers to maximize profitability and ensure customer satisfaction.
  3. Sales: Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients while actively seeking out new business opportunities to expand the company’s market share.
  4. Market Analysis: Stay abreast of market trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes affecting the scrap metal industry to inform decision-making and strategy.
  5. Logistics Coordination: Coordinate the transportation and logistics of scrap metal shipments, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with safety regulations.
  6. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and environmental standards governing the scrap metal trading industry.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in scrap metal trading, with a strong network of industry contacts.
  3. Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and revenue goals.
  4. Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish long-term relationships with clients and suppliers.
  5. Strong analytical skills and a keen understanding of market dynamics.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
